![]() ![]() Article source: TheTwistedUnderground.com You have likely already seen this particular highly modified, Lemans Blue Corvette Z06 featured online and briefly included in some Picture threads on other Forums but lets get down to Brass Tacts, shall we. This Monster belongs to Duane Chamberlain and is one of his fabulously fast and custom vehicles. This Z06 effortlessly blasts the 1/4 mile in 9.8 seconds like clockwork every single time with the help of it's 427 V8 Small Block LS7. This Z06 tips the scales in power, beauty and styling and is also used as a show-car which hauls home tons of hardware when it shows its face at any venue. With exotic looks, comforts, technology, handling, braking, and power Duane's Z06 does not disappoint in any category. So without further ado, I give you Duane Chamberlain's 2007 Z06!! ![]() Owner Information ~ Name: Duane Chamberlain II ~ Age: 46 ~ Twisted Underground username: TBA ~ Location: Fort Myers, FL ~ Occupation: Owner of All Ways Electric Vehicle Information ~ Year: 2007 ~ Make: Chevrolet ~ Model: Corvette Z06 ~ Color: Lemans Blue ~ Engine: 427 LS7 Modifications ~ Engine: 427 V8 Small Block LS7, Largest, Most Powerful Small-Block Engine Ever Built, 104.8 MM Bore/101.6 MM Stroke/11:1 Compression Ratio, Ported & Polished Intake and Heads, 587 RWHP @ 6300 RPM, Forged Steel Crankshaft, Titanium Connecting Rods, Dry Sump Oil System, Built by Hand Engine, Halltech Cold Air Intake, Aftermath Performance Modification&Tuned. ~ Exhaust: American Racing Headers ~ Body: Custom Painted Engine bay by Steve Ray, Carbon Fiber Door Handles, Carbon Fiber APC Rear Spoiler, Carbon Fiber ZR1 front splitter ~ Wheels: 360 Forged Carbon Fiber Rims w/ OEM Color(over-sized285-30-19 Front & 345-25-20 Rear Nitto Invo Tires ~ Interior: Custom Painted Interior by Steve Ray, Peripheral Anti-theft System, Bose RDS Audio System / Navigation System ~ Other: Autographed By: NASCAR Dale Earnhardt Jr. (2010), Autographed By: NASCAR Jimmie Johnson (2009) ![]() Featured Car Questions When and where did you purchase this car? Purchased in 2008 @ Estero bay Chevrolet Why did you choose this car as the basis of your project? I am a huge Chevrolet guy, I could really go on about my passion for Chevy. To be honest the Corvette only seemed natural once I was able to purchase this car I wanted it really, really right! Was there anything unique about the car before you started modifying it? No not really. Did you consider any other brands, and what led you to the Z06? As I said I am huge Chevrolet guy, I love the history and where the name came from Louis Chevrolet and he was about engineering things to go fast, it was never about production with him (unlike Ford) and the reason he left the company when it was taken over by Durant in 1920, he died penniless but racing. I am not a Ford guy at all and typically do not even respect them. To me if there is anything other than Chevrolet on the road or racetrack they are just taking up space; I am proud to be associated, own and drive a US manufactured supercar, so another manufacture other than Chevrolet make no sense to me. Last 8 manufacture championships 8 years in a row NASCAR series is Chevrolet (8cyl., 8 yrs, 8 championships) and the winningest manufacture in NASCAR history. What was your objective with this project? I drive the car, I do show it, but I drive it and I really enjoy putting it but there. I do enjoy the shows, it is kept in a garage but it is no garage queen! What companies or individuals were involved in the build-out? Steve ray did all the air brush work. 360 forged built the rims custom for me, Aftermath performance has done all the tunes, and modifications on the car. Any specific technical details you can share? Something's are better left in the dust! ![]() What was the most difficult part of the project to get right? The rims, we ordered these in July of 08 and never had them perfect until March of 09. If you had to do it all over again what would you change? I would buy 2 Have you generated any formal test results with this car (dyno, 1/4 mile, etc?) The dyno I posted above and the quarter mile I have run several low 10 and I have a 9.9 and a 9.8. I have been around daytona speedway at 168 mph. and in fact there is a cool video of me holding an iphone in one hand on the steering wheel and I run down the superspeedway and hammer the gears to 146mph while video taping. (YouTube / search "lemans blue corvette") ![]() Are you finished – what’s next? I want to make it lighter, I will start working on brakes and eventually drop a ZR1 engine in. Is this your daily driver, and if not what else is in your garage? Not daily but every chance I get. All Chevrolet in my driveway. I just bought my daughter (15 yrs old) a 1976 Corvette Stingray. She is old school and just like her Dad all about Chevy! (guys if you are driving a Ford u don’t stand a chance with her). What is your favorite thing about this car? That sideways squall from 1st to 2nd! with the ability to make someone in the passenger seat piss their pants! As modified, what makes your car unique? I would say the paint really is so impressive and detailed. Where can other enthusiasts see your car? I am on several forums and at shows in SWFL Anything else you’d like to share? I use to pay someone to detail my car at least once a week and always at the shows. I have started detailing my car about 2 years ago and really taken it to another level. I recommend anyone who has a great car to self perform the detailing your job will be far more superior than anyone else doing it. Here is Duane's (15 yrs old) daughter with her 1976 Corvette Stingray ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
